Ninpou - Hyakkasaihou (Ninja Art - One Hundred Blossoming Flowers) - A special technique newly crafted by this young genius. He launches a rapid number of sharp Senbon at his desired target, with special Kidou trapped seals on them, which causes them to explode upon impact within a flowery pink light, as if almost mocking the targets in their fall. It is said that he rarely uses this technique, simply for the fact that the Senbon can explode on his body if hit hard enough. This attack require the inner workings of Hadou #06, something that Masataka has longed learned.

Ninpou - Hibashiri (Ninja Art - Running Fire) - A rather basic technique made through the use of any simple fire Kidou. The user will toss a ball up into the sky, an expanding ball made by his own clan, which holds a small amount of liquid within. Once hit with a Senbon or any sharp object, it explodes, allowing the user to set the released liquid aflame with any fire Kidou. It is known that the liquid is highly flamable in itself, meaning that any sort of flame would set it on fire instantly, but the genius likes to use a demon spell for a more intense effect.

Ninpou - Goukakyuu (Ninja Art - Grand Fireball) - Another technique centered around the general movement of combat, created through the use of an odd black powder, and mouthful of flammable liquid. This concentrates attack formed with a spark of flame Kidou and focused spirit energy, which creates a mid sized fire ball that launches towards the target when spat. Simple put, Masataka wets his lips with his own spirit energy and rolls the liquid source outwards over the casting finger near his lips, sending it out in a arrow-blast like motion.

Ninpou - Hyakkoryouran (Ninja Art - Many Blooming Flowers) - Less of a technique and more of a scattering of bombs. The user scatters a number of special round balls, explosives, and then disturbs them with a pulse of spirit energy, causing them to explode all at once, rather violently. Masataka gave this attack the name of "Many Blooming Flowers" because of the way the bombs look when thrown, like flowers in bloom being scattered gleefully. Safe to say, the enemy is normally distracted by the 'bombs' or simply ignores them, giving the genius enough time to activate them at a safe distance.

History: To wander the world is the desire of an adventure, yet to learn the world is the lust of a scientist. This was something that Masataka Takayanagi learned a few years after becoming a Shinigami. Sadly, he knew that this was impossible for one that has long passed away. After waking up in one of the calmer districts of Rukongai, he set off in search of a simple life that could gift him knowledge and feeling of true content. This did not come to him. Instead he was met with scorn from black robed figures and thugs alike, pushed down into the gutter and forced into a home he did not want. A slum was still a slum after all, no matter what some people liked to paint it as. With nowhere to go and nothing to enjoy, he simply read. His eyes scanned books for days on end, reading and reading until his mind was enthralled in information.

By candlelight, inside his cold little shack within District 21, his eyes rarely left a page for several months. He had learned what Rukongai was. What Seireitei held. What this wonderful new existence could bring him. What one Masataka could become. By trading with the locals and more, he gained an expansive libary and soon had a set plan of what to do. Or so he had thought. Many years after this all he been accomplished, the genius returned home one night to see his door ajar and broken, pages fallen to the wet earth around it. His mind didn't need to be what it was to figure out what had been happened. His home had been violated completely and no one was saying a word about it. All his books and keepsakes were gone or destroyed, left to mock him. Whatever food he had managed to gather had been taken, leaving nary a slice of half-eaten bred. They had even shattered his bed and taken away what kept him warm at night.

This was the day that Masataka Takayanagi lost a piece of himself and gained an echo of what he could become. Without a place to go or way to find out who had done this, the genius had merely sighed and did the best he could to shut the cracked door, not even bothering to glance at the long dead lock on the ground. He had fallen asleep on his floor that night, his stomach growling and a sea of sadness dancing with his dreams. Through it all, his dark gaze had never touched the piece of wood now standing next to where his makeshift bookcase had been, a piece of wood that sparked with a shimmery orange light for quite a few times that night. He had always held the power to become something more, he had just never looked beyond his own mind. Still, who knows how long it took the genius to figure out his place in 'life' and move on? It certainly isn't my story to tell. The only person who knows such a thing, would be the man himself. Masataka Takayanagi, Shinigami of Squad 4.

Zanpakuto Spirit -

Zanpakutô Shikai: His Zanpakuto is a strange one, being a cane which transforms into a true weapon when desired. The cane itself is a normal one, wooded in stature and possessing no unique traits beyond the marking on the very bottom tip. It's hooked handle is usually always grasped by the genius and he seems to enjoy walking with it, sometimes even being seen talking to out in the open. Yet, this simple cane hides the true might of his Shikai. Whenever Masataka evokes the release phrase "Trick, Byakko" when holding it, the wooden body peels away and fades into spiritual dust before leaving a new weapon for all to see. A sword, a red sword littered in a steel than one could described as rusted. The edge of the weapon holds a pitiful dullness and weakness that one would not expect from a trained Shinigami, until you realized the strength it may possess. The handle of the Zanpakuto was now that of most swords, holding a basic grip suited his for his wrist in battle. Still, that was not all. A thin, almost-yellow strip of cloth stretches from the grip of the blade, falling in a torn piece for about two feet. All in all, not much is known about Byakko, beyond that Masataka rarely releases it.
