Hollow - The Outer Darkness

What is a Hollow?
Hollows are former Pluses (deceased human souls) that lose their hearts to despair or remain in the real world for too long. In the anime, non-human spirits can also transform into Hollows. Any spirit that is not guided to the Soul Society by a Shinigami via Soul Burial may eventually descend into a Hollow. They require "food" in forms of a sick spirit eating hunger.

Transformation Process
Many ghosts find they are unable to cope when their loved ones move on or old enemies forget them. At this point, some will become dangerously obsessed with fulfilling those goals, even if the means to fulfil them renders the soul empty: for example, killing anyone who comes near a loved one, in order to keep them from hurting that person. In doing so, the ghost warps into a hollow and, ironically, often makes the focus of their obsession into their first victim. It normally takes about a year for the process to complete.

Special Hollow Ability: A Hollow can consume a player character and get all their skill points to distribute. Note that once that player character is consumed, it is gone for good, and cannot be reincarnated in any way. A Hollow can only consume if an agreement between the holder of the characters comes to view. You can also PARTIAL devour a character, thus an taking amount of skill points you discussed, without killing the character.

Hollows also have the power to devour NPC souls and Hollows, which will instantly yield 1 stat point for each one (also known as Gonzui). Note: This must be descriptive and large, or you will not gain the points. You can also write a huge devour post in the training grounds instead of a sparring or fighting post, just be warned: It must be good as a normal training post to get the points from a devour.


Summary: The first Hollow stage out of all "true" Hollow levels. It is gained through simply becoming a Hollow, or having a low level of power when becoming one. These type of Hollows are killed on a daily bases by the thousands, and there is truly nothing special about them other than the fact that they can still communicate, though it is bathed in hatred and vile intent. It's Shinigami counterpart would be a Academy Student, or a newly made Shinigami.

Special Powers: Though they do not gain access to any powers other than the brute strength of their form, they do gain the centre-point of all Hollow souls. Gonzui, or the ability in which the Hollow race to continue on eating their prey. Gonzui is a technique used by Hollows to devour spirits to increase their size, power, force, and spiritual energy, while being content from the devouring of souls. Side Note: There is no stat increase, and the power gained through this is awarded through training posts.

Summary: The second stage of the Hollow race. A Hollow that has learnt the ropes, or just has the power needed to become this level. They quickly grasp on to the fact they have powers far above a normal human and delve so deep into their wickedness that they gain an ability attached to their soul. Most Hollows have different abilities, though so can be similar.

Special Powers: A special ability that suits the style of the Hollow it is born within. Stat boosts cannot be gained through this method. Abilities that suit each species of Hollow type is best (Acid, Fire, stealth, and many other powers to choose from.) Only a single "power/ability" can be chosen at this stage (can be compared to a low-level Shikai). Not only that, they also gain access to the dangerous and extremely powerful spirit blast - Cero.

Summary: The third stage of the Hollow race, and the largest. They are the weakest class of Menos and the first stage of Menos evolution. They are giant in comparison to other Hollows, dwarfing even the largest standard Hollows by at least the size of a two-story building, but lack agility and intelligence. This stage is normally seen as terror inducing to behold, and most of the time only 3rd Seat Shinigami and over are allowed to deal with them. They are nicknamed "Menos Grande"

Special Powers: Not only do these beings gain massive size, they are also granted the ability to summon a large beam of light upon alies to bring them to safety through the special ability known as Negación. Negación fields surround a target in a square beam of light that isolates the target alley from the dimension they are currently in, making it impossible to harm them, even for a Captain class Shinigami. The field then pulls the target towards the Menos that created the field. Side Note: While in the Gillian stage, all attacks dealt to the form are weakened by fifty percent.

Level Requirement: Hollow Rank - 10


Summary: The fourth stage of all Hollow. They are mid-ground for the Menos level, and are extremely power Hollows. Adjuchas can vary radically in appearance; anywhere from bulky humanoids to a jaguar-like form. The are typically much smaller than Gillians, but significantly-larger than a Human. They are also-much smarter than the Gillian-class, and normally have the power to challenge most Shinigami at Liutenant level or above.

Special Powers: Most Adjuchas instantly gain the power of a mastered Garganta, which can be used at any time or moment by simply tearing a hand through the air. Garganta allows all Hollows to move between Hueco Mundo and Earth in an instant. Adjuchas also gain a second birthed ability, much like what a Mature Hollow gains, just many times stronger. They are normally on par with most Shikai, but they vary in power between each Hollow.

Level Requirement: Hollow Rank - 15


Summary: Vasto Lorde are the most-powerful class of Hollow and are litreally the King of Hollow species in terms of power. They appear to be about the size of a Human and apparently appear to be completely humanoid. They are said to surpass an average Captain-Class Shinigami in battle abilities, and are almost a terror to meet. It said that there are extremely few of these creatures, and the average number can be counted on one hand. Vasto Lorde have intellegence, speed, and strength. They are not to be taken lightly. Side Note: This state no longer has "the hunger"

Special Powers: As the most highest levelled Hollow level, they receive the strongest of powers. They gain the ability of Sonido, a technique which allows them to move at extreme speeds, making it highly similar to Shunpo (or Flash Steps as they are called in the English Dub) that Shinigami use. Sonído is pure instinct and requires no skill, being able to go ahead to ahead with all forms of Shunpo. Sonído makes a booming or static sound when used. The Vasto Lorde also gain three more abilities (much like the Mature Hollow and Adjuchas stage), seemingly on par with most Bankai.

Vasto Lorde also are granted extremely High-Speed Regeneration, which allows them to heal half the damage dealt to them in a near instant. Seemingly this can be compared a Advanced Healing Pill or Healing Kidou, but its done through raw instinct and spirit energy. Still, the High-Speed Regeneration can drain a Vasto Lorde after some time, and eat away at resources.

Finally they gain the power of Bala. Bala is a technique that hardens the user's Reiatsu and releases it like a swift blast of spiritual energy. While the technique is not nearly as powerful as a Cero, its speed is 20 times faster and allows for it to be fired in quick repetition. It can, quite literally, drill a number of holes through most beings within a blink of an eye, much like a machine gun.
